| Well
done for understanding that you cannot embark on a sexual relationship
before you are able to deal with the many possible consequences.
AIDS is a very big problem in Zimbabwe, and you are right to
be wary of having sex. However, you cannot get AIDS from holding
hands with someone. Kissing mouth to mouth is safe even if your
mouths are open. If you and your girlfriend are happy to continue
without sex, then I think you are a sensible couple.
Some
of your other friends may already be having sex, but don't let
this pressurise you into doing the same before you are ready.
You also mention that you want to wait until you have finished
your studies before you have sex. And don't think you can have
sex without worrying about the HIV virus once you have finished
school. When you and your girlfriend both feel you are ready
to have sex, you should use condoms - this will prevent AIDS
and will also mean that she doesn't get pregnant.
